The Christian Faith
We understand and respect the questions, doubts and struggles many people have about Christianity. We believe honest questions deserve honest answers. We hope that our Sundays services will be a place where you can begin to find these answers. And yet, here’s just a small taste of what Christianity is all about...
Jesus was a Jew who lived 2000 years ago in Israel, and he is the person at the centre of Christianity. He was the son of a carpenter; he never became a powerful ruler; he never wrote a book. He died young, in a brutal way, nailed to a cross and yet today, millions of people all around the world worship him. It’s all about him.
A Cruel Death
Jesus’ death was not an accident. He told his followers he would die. He taught people that their sin (the fact that we do not love and serve God) separated them from God. Mankind deserved to die for this, but Jesus died in man’s place.
Because Jesus died and took the punishment mankind deserved for ignoring God, those who follow Jesus can now have a relationship with God. This relationship begins the day you trust in Jesus and means that after you die, you go to be with him forever.
Find out more
From time to time, we run courses to help people ask their questions and discover more about Jesus. A member of the team would also be really happy to meet you one to one. You may also find this short video a helpful introduction…
